Glamorous Tranquility

Renovation transforms bathroom into retreat

GO-bathroom6IMG_5527Since establishing her design firm a decade ago, Jennifer Huett’s, associate ASID, designs have been featured on television, national publications and online.

Her retail store, House to Home, is located in Temperance Hill Square and hosts a collection of home furnishings and decor.

Having been named Arkansas’ Top Designer for several years with her internationally known blog,, Jennifer’s design plan is simple: get to know each client and understand their individual, personal values and ideas, whether for residential or commercial spaces.

After purchasing a 1990’s built home in East Gate II, Jennifer was asked by the homeowners to transform their dated master bathroom into calming, yet glamorous space.

“The homeowner wanted a clean, fresh, up-to-date design,” Jennifer said. “They wanted the dated, dark flooring, step-down tub, man-made marble shower insert and counters removed. Having children, they wanted practicality meets glamour.”

The master bath was a high priority as the homeowners wanted a fuss-free, no nonsense design, so Jennifer took out all these elements and transformed the out-of-date bathroom into a fresh, light, neutral space.

“Installing a free standing tub and beautiful glass tiled wall puts a little glamour and a modern twist on the renovation,” Jennifer said. “One of the more modern meets transitional designs that I use helps to keep clients up-to-date if they decide to sell their homes in 10 or 20 years.”

She replaced the master bath counter top with marble, installed a new, beautiful, tiled shower, marble flooring and new chrome hardware.

The homeowners specifically requested a seated area for the counter top as a priority, which was incorporated at the end of the counter. Draperies were also installed as accents to the tub and to cover the windows for privacy.

And thanks to the warm palette, Jennifer said the homeowners are “loving the new, unique, tranquil retreat. This master bath represents calm and cohesiveness.”

House to Home is located at 4328 Central Ave. Ste. K, Hot Springs, AR 71913, and can be contacted by phone at 501-520-4949 or email at
